Move over Disneyland - Taipei, Taiwan is now fondly known to me (and anyone who will listen to me) as my 'Happiest Place on Earth'. Not only did I feel safe walking around at any time of day - but the food scene here rivals the best and for a much lower cost (which does add to my excitement!).

Where we stayed: due to limited time (48hrs) we mostly stayed in this area/walking distance of our hotel (listed below), aside from the night market and hiking Elephant Mountain, which I highly recommend as an activity between bites!
10/10 recommend! small rooms but beyond friendly staff, free coffee and snacks/ramen 24/7! Book ahead to get a great rate and I also recommend booking airport transfer - cheaper than uber!
Favorite food spots:
蔥抓餅 scallion pancake stand (keep it simple, just egg is amazing!) if i could go there daily - I would!!!
Xing Fu Tang 幸福堂 MUST try boba (burnt brown sugar) so good I had it twice!
Crispy Milk Donuts 一脆鮮奶脆皮甜甜圈總店 for the viral milk donut
一甲子餐飲 specializes in braised pork belly - order: gua bao, lu rou fan (meat on rice), kong rou fan EXCEPTIONAL !!!!
A Cheng Goose (dine in) 阿城鵝肉 吉林二店 get the duck over duck fat rice SUPERB
Lao Shandong Homemade Noodles 老山東牛肉麵 - MUST TRY BEEF NOODLE SOUP! Thick hand pulled noodles (michelin recommended). Got there at 10:30am when they opened and it filled up quick!
Coffee: most shops don't open until late morning. if you're an earlier riser..I highly recommend a hotel with free coffee or go to 7-11! for more of a vibe:
powder coffee roasters - sooo cute (stack with going to A Cheng Goose) got the americano with cream, still thinking about it!
Ao Tao Zu Café 初二咖啡 - also have famous dumplings!

Night Market: Raohe Must Try *truly, follow your heart. Whatever looks good..get it!
御品元冰火湯圓-台北饒河店 - They make tangyuan here ( chinese glutinous rice ball with sweet fillings). You can choose from a variety of fillings but we got their most popular one which was no. 7 - peanut filling and sesame filling. We got it iced which is a really unique twist on a classic chinese treat. It was refreshing and you can add the osmanthus syrup to your content for sweetness.
Fuzhou Shizu Pepper Pork Bun 福州世祖胡椒餅 - tiktok famous black pepper buns! Crazy line but moves very quickly!
蒸好呷（蒸餃、酸辣湯） - loved the dumplings! super unique and tables to sit
古早味寶寶麻糬 - michilin recommended mochi! stuffed with sugar and coated in peanut powder
【一路花】花生捲冰淇淋&台灣叭噗 - taiwanese peanut ice cream roll with..cilantro?! definitely worth experiencing.
