Amsterdam (to me) is a venn diagram of delicious food, instrgrammable treats, and elegant/sophisticated food. Somehow it all feels a little healthier too? Top bites: truffle mushroom egg toast (Benji's), Leauf Amsterdam (get the Leauf de Boeuf *more info below), and cro-muffin from SAINT JEAN!
The theme of your trip SHOULD BE RESERVATIONS. Make them way ahead of time if you want to go to the Picasso Museum, Anne Frank, or eat at specific restaurants.

Best & MUST Bites:
Brunch: I felt like brunch was a big deal here?? MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A RESERVATION!!
Benji's West: One of the best bites of my entire trip: truffle mushroom over egg toast
Moos: benedict was great! multiple locations to choose from
Greenwoods: also loved this place. The staff was so kind!
Little Collins
Street food: lots of "street foods" that you have to try while in the Netherlands..
Stroopwafels: controversial opinion.. I prefer them cold lol but a hot off the press stroopwafel is not to be missed! Hard to imagine one place is better or worse than another, so definitely wouldn't wait in a long line for this one
Poffertjes: aka mini pancakes that a amazing! Soft, buttery little pillows. Again, hard to imagine one place could be much better than another - so I wouldn't wait in a long line for this one either.
Frites topped with truffle mayo and parmesan! Now THIS is something I would be more selective about - Fabel Friet comes highly recommended!
Kibbeling is a popular Dutch dish of deep-fried cod nuggests. We had them at a dutch bar (along with a pea soup - bomb) and loved it. Highly recommend a dutch cuisine restaurant while youre visiting (some of the better places require reservations and are quite expensive - but when in Rome, right?!) REC: 4-6 course chefs menu at j'Vijff Vlieghen.
Coffee: holy cow Amsterdam has some great coffee.
Luuks Coffee (multiple locations)
Bocca Coffee
Uncommon Cafe
Dampkring
Pastry:
Saint Jean Bakery: not only are these pastries incredible (get the cro-muffin) but SOMEHOW it's also VEGAN!?
Other:
I had THE BEST SANDWICH - in fact, it's a sandwich I wouldn't shut up about for weeks after. At Leauf Amsterdam (get the Leauf de Boeuf - ribeye steak, truffle egg cream, frites (think pic a nics) and a black garlic mayo..) I'm drooling about it as I write this. UNREAL.
GREAT PIZZA at Pizzaria Dope!
Must do?
REMBRANDT MUSEUM!!! but not the museum part ..here me out lol in the gift shop you can do a AI portrait that makes you into a rembrandt painting. My sister and I were cackling having the most fun with it. *i'll share a photo at the end of the blog lol don't mind my illegal photography
Picasso Museum
Anne Frank Museum
Heineken Experience (or just order it at a bar - we all noted and appreciated how well priced the beer was here!!!)
Vintage shop - the vintage here was AMAZING. Favorites: Penny Lane (I got a sweatshirt from there), Episode (my sister got a jacket and shoes from here), and Marbles (more of a country western vibe - but the prices are unreallll!)
Canal boat ride
Browse the markets
Eat, duh
How to get around? Public transport or walk! Make sure you scan on AND OFF the trams!
